Nurse Assistant Training

It is not just for me but for a friend of mine. It just started training for the nurse to the American Red Cross, hoping to work for a hospital with better results than his current job in fast food, even on one leg to an AI. He started class today and was told that the training was more in nursing homes and palliative care as a hospital-oriented. It is disappointing because the whole point was that he worked for a hospital. It feels solid and deposits are not refundable. Can he ever get hired at a hospital where he needed more specific training?
